Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to support QIAGEN in the continuous development and improvement of our enterprise-wide risk management system. This system is key in helping us meet regulatory requirements, achieve company objectives, protect assets, and ensure legal compliance. The Enterprise Risk Manager will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks, fostering a risk-aware culture, and supporting our leadership in strategic decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance QIAGEN’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework to align with regulatory and organizational objectives.
- Lead risk identification and assessment initiatives across all departments to ensure a proactive risk management approach and monitoring.
- Develop and maintain risk management documentation, including an up-to-date risk register and regular risk reports for senior leadership.
- Define and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) to detect emerging risks early and coordinate appropriate mitigation responses.
- Standardize and improve the risk management framework for efficiency and consistency across the organization.
- Collaborate with department heads and leaders to implement effective risk mitigation plans tailored to specific operational areas.
- Provide strategic insights and actionable recommendations on risk mitigation, working with relevant stakeholders on controls and action plans.
- Conduct training to increase risk awareness, ownership, and accountability across departments, fostering a culture of proactive risk management.
Position Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree in Economics, (Business) Mathematics, Statistics/Econometrics, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in risk management within the life sciences industry.
- Certifications: Risk management-related certifications are advantageous.
- Skills: Solid understanding of financial mathematics and risk management principles; intermediate to advanced knowledge of statistical/numerical scripting languages.
- Personal Attributes: Initiative, conscientiousness, creativity, and strong teamwork skills, with excellent analytical and communication abilities, a high level of commitment, and a structured, independent working style.
- Additional Competencies: Enthusiasm for industry developments in the life sciences, with strong technical affinity and comfort working with regulatory texts and financial reports.
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in both German and English, in both written and spoken communication.
- Collaboration Skills: Enjoys working with colleagues from various countries and interacting with different business functions.
